The Bike Cave Is Open

   By: John Guenthner

SAN MARCOS-The Bike Cave has scoured the San Marcos community in order to promote cycling as an alternative form of transportation.
Since 2003, the Bike Cave has held numerous sessions throughout the Texas State community in order to boost pedal-biking moral in exchange for the lust of driving motor vehicles.
"It's our goal to remind people that there is another way to get to where you need to go," said Jimmy Rheiner, volunteer and bike-enthusiast at the Bike Cave.
The Bike Cave holds several events on campus and, on certain days, the staff offers a free workshop held in the middle of the Quad for students who bike to school.
“Having a workshop right here in the Quad is great,” says Scott Bennigan, avid cyclist in San Marcos. “Not only is it convenient, but it’s free!”
It’s obvious that popularity for bikes is growing among the student body. Due to construction, 6 new bike racks have been placed on campus for use.
